Prinoth Panther T23r: The Biggest Rotating Crawler Carrier Yet
Prinoth used CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026 to introduce its new flagship crawler carrier. The Panther T23r is the largest and most technologically advanced rotating crawler carrier the industry has seen. Notably, it is also the first machine to feature the company’s PowerForce undercarriage.
That undercarriage is the headline. It is a breakthrough design underpinning more than 20 patent applications. Prinoth built it to deliver terrain performance and operational efficiency that conventional carriers cannot match.

What the Panther T23r Brings to Site
The Panther T23r carries the largest payload in its class at 22.5 short tons. Even so, it keeps compact dimensions. The machine measures 9.8 feet (3 meters) wide and 10.8 feet (3.175 meters) tall, at 40 tons total weight.
Its continuous 360-degree rotating upper structure pairs with a rounded Hardox steel dump box and telescopic cylinder. Together they enable precise material placement in confined spaces where conventional haulers simply cannot operate.
The PowerForce Undercarriage Explained
The PowerForce undercarriage represents a fundamental advancement in crawler carrier design. Competitors often rely on rigid walking beam systems, which transfer every bump directly to the operator and the cargo. The Panther T23r instead absorbs terrain variations while maximizing power transfer to the ground.
The result is a machine that works harder, travels faster, saves fuel and significantly improves operator comfort.

Adaptive Independent Suspension
The undercarriage positions eight wheels on independent arms. Each provides seven inches of travel through hydro-pneumatic shock absorbers that adjust automatically to load conditions, absorbing terrain impacts and protecting the operator.
This dual-setting system maintains consistent ride quality whether the machine is empty at 41,200 pounds or fully loaded at 85,400 pounds. Strategic weight distribution places 60 percent of the load on the center wheels. Consequently, zero-turn capability improves and ground pressure falls.
The Panther T23r Oblong Track
Prinoth engineers developed an oval track shape that reduces bend points by 50 percent. It also doubles the bend radius compared to conventional designs.
On the Panther T23r, that geometry minimizes energy loss at each track revolution, so more engine power reaches vehicle motion. The design also increases ground contact area. In turn, flotation improves in soft conditions and traction improves on slopes.
Precision Track Alignment
The Panther T23r achieves track pitch precision 10 times greater than standard crawler carriers. Prinoth engineered it with precise link spacing and an auto-centering “fox head” profile.
The planetary drives deliver smooth sprocket operation, engaging 15 teeth simultaneously rather than the single-point contact of conventional designs. Notably, the roller and wheel configuration virtually eliminates de-tracking even under extreme maneuvering. That minimizes downtime and extends track life.
Automatic Track Tensioning
On the Panther T23r, a dual-action tensioning system continuously optimizes track tension based on operating conditions. It reduces tension when the machine is lightly loaded, which minimizes component wear. It then increases tension automatically when the machine needs additional traction.
This real-time adjustment extends undercarriage service life. Equally, it ensures maximum performance across all terrain types.
A Dump Box Designed Around the Load
The rounded shape of the Hardox steel deep-section box promotes smooth material flow and reduces carryback. That matters especially with sticky soils and aggregates.
On the Panther T23r, Prinoth moved the dump box closer to the undercarriage centerline than traditional designs allow. Doing so optimizes its center of gravity and balances loads across the suspension and central bearing. As a result, stress, weight and complexity in the frame all fall.

Inside the Panther T23r Cabin
The Panther T23r features Prinoth’s new cabin with a near center-mounted operator position. That layout provides enhanced visibility to the right side, where ground personnel typically work.
Standard equipment includes an air-ride seat, a 7-inch touchscreen display and ergonomic joystick controls for dump and rotate. An intuitive steering wheel and foot throttle drive system, a sun visor and cruise control complete the package. All of it aims to reduce operator fatigue during long shifts. An optional buddy seat is also available.
“Customers are pushing farther into remote, sensitive and high-consequence environments,” said Frank M. Gangi, product manager for the Prinoth Panther. “With the Panther T23r, we set out to give them a machine that feels completely in control on those sites, with a payload and undercarriage that lets them haul more in fewer passes while protecting the jobsite and the machine.”
