Description

We have fantastic content and stories from some great locations in issue 15 of Awesome Earthmovers.

In February, we visited a port facility in Austria to see the world’s largest material handler manufactured by Sennebogen.

We also took the opportunity to visit an Arizona copper mine just before CONEXPO to see a 150-tonne Cat 6015B excavator working.

With alterative energy sources and sustainability becoming a more prominent issue in the industry we went to report on the world-famous Eden project in Cornwall, UK. Here, a 4 month trial has just finished of a Volvo electric wheel loader and excavator in partnership with Volvo Construction Equipment.

We travelled to France in July to see a specialist Kobelco excavator at a recycling business. The new SK140SRD-7 was tasked with dismantling vehicles. With its specially designed dismantling and clamp arms, the Kobelco can secure a car and utilise its multi-use nibbler to dissect a vehicle of various materials.

Murphy Civil Engineering took delivery of the first Liebherr R936 Compact in the U.K and Ireland. We visited brothers, Peter and Finbar Murphy to see the Steelwrist equipped machine working on a water pipeline project.

We have the story on a new breakwater project in Ireland utilising two long reach Hitachi EX1200 excavators. The job is being undertaken by specialist contractor, Foyle and Marine Dredging in Greencastle, County Donegal.

Additionally, we have features on Case excavators and wheel loaders, Tesab and Keestrack crushing equipment, a Wirtgen soil stabiliser, an Edge Innovate trommel and Hidromek and Sany excavators .
