Reduced operating costs with the updated and improved Quad 600 cropper from NPC

The newly updated and refined Quad 600 cropper from National Pile Croppers has been designed to be used for the reduction of augured (round) piles up to 600mm diameter. It utilises four powerful and fully synchronised rams with specially designed blades to give a superb pile cut. Additionally, the cropper will also hold the cut pile section safely for removal to a designated safe area.
National Pile Croppers has since the beginning of the company been proud of the continuous R&D that goes in to making its hydraulic pile croppers more efficient, safer, customer focused and productive. The newest iteration of this non-stop development programme is the latest version of the company’s award winning Quad 600 cropper.
“We have always stated we are constantly improving the equipment we manufacture, so, the launch of the latest version of the Quad 600 cropper is another development we are justly proud of. As the mainstay of a CFA cropper fleet, we are sure that this development will benefit customers wherever it is used,” says National Pile Croppers director Lee Aston.
A design that works
Best utilised on piles with debonded reinforcement bars, the new Quad 600’s design provides a very small footprint to enable access into tight spaces meaning that it can also be used to reduce contiguous and secant piled walls with spacing as close as 100mm. The Quad 600 utilises four powerful and fully synchronised rams with specially designed blades to give a superb pile cut, with the cropper also holding the cut pile section safely for removal to a designated safe area.
The Quad 600 achieves cropping excellence by being lowered over the top of the pile to recommended height – on ‘de-bonded’ piles this could be 500mm or more. The jaws of the cropper are then closed until pile section pops free. The reinforcement bars can then be easily removed and recycled whilst the broken pile section can now be lifted to dumper or an identified safe area for processing.
“In essence, the new Quad 600 possesses two key advantages over other croppers: synchronisation which provides a more consistent and even break and the chisels are purpose designed to produce a superior finish. Through our development and these features, health and safety is dramatically enhanced as the Quad 600 is, to our knowledge, the only cropper that is able to safely hold the broken concrete section within its body.
“What all these features mean is that the Quad 600 delivers higher levels of productivity as it is faster and more efficient. And what that means for contractors is reduced costs, operational synergies and an improved business model,” concludes National Pile Croppers director Lee Aston.
The new Quad 600 is now available for hire or purchase throughout the UK and will be introduced globally in the coming months.
