When we travelled to a boggy job site near Heidenheim in southern Germany, we expected to see challenging ground conditions—and we weren’t disappointed. What we didn’t expect was just how easily the PowerBully 12D tracked dumper handled it all. The Project Overview
Max Wild GmbH is a family-owned company based in Berkheim, Germany, that’s well-known for its expertise in demolition, earthworks, and site logistics. Among their most in-demand machines is the PowerBully 12D, a 12-tonne tracked dumper built for tough terrain. We visited one of their rental clients operating in deep mud and saturated ground conditions, and it was instantly clear why this machine is proving so popular.

Heavy Equipment in Action
With its low ground pressure and high off-road mobility, the PowerBully 12D can operate in environments where conventional wheeled equipment would grind to a halt. Its 0.15 kg/cm² ground pressure, 0° turning radius, and ability to tackle steep slopes make it ideal for rural construction, utility maintenance, forestry, and other applications where ground conditions are unpredictable. Mounted on pendulum axles, the running gear hugs uneven surfaces, while avoiding the need for top rollers—cutting down on long-term maintenance costs.

And for the operator? Comfort is king. The suspended cab, joystick steering, air conditioning, Bluetooth radio, USB ports, and intuitive controls are all designed with long shifts in mind. Coupled with a 360° camera system, premium LED lighting, and excellent all-round visibility, it’s a machine that’s as safe and ergonomic as it is effective.

The jobsite we visited was a real test—deep mud, poor drainage, and limited space. Where trucks and standard dumpers would typically sink or stall, the PowerBully moved freely, demonstrating why it’s such a valuable asset in Max Wild’s fleet. According to Luca Häußler, who oversees Max Wild’s rental division and workshops, “The PowerBully is a game-changer for our customers. It’s especially effective in rural and forestry areas where access is poor and the ground can’t support wheeled equipment.”
